Unbenanntes Projekt

hi, i'm annika

as a child i always admired my grandfather who, whenever life got hectic or a little too fast, vanished into his atelier and painted for hours. one day i followed him to his atelier and all the colours, the brushes, the paper around his atelier made me wanted to have an escape of the everyday-life like he did. instead of excaping it, i learned later on, it was more a way of processing emotions, reliving memories and making them immortal by capturing them in colours and shapes upon a canvas.

art, in any form, gives us a very unique opportunity to feel a variety of things. sometimes it makes us feel pure happiness, bringing back memories of snippets of paradise. sometimes it forces us to look into the eyes of our deepest fears - whatever emotions art sparks within us, it always makes us learn more about ourselves. that's why i'm a firm believer that art should be for everyone and not something exclusive. therefore, if you ever feel like you have questions about art, techniques or anything realted to art where you feel like you need support - just let me know and reach out to me and i'll try to help with all my possibilties. otherwise, i hope you enjoy what i create and it makes you feel something.

a little about what i do
i'm still learning and exploring different styles while having fun with art and different techniques.

architecture, a different form of art, is a big part of my life and my profession and passion.

gaining knowledge from my grandfather, who was a professional book- and printmaker, i started making linocuts. natural motives, such as flowers, birds and the moon are my favourite.

i started oil painting in middle school and didn’t stop ever since. same as in my watercolour pictures, i prefer landscape motives.

my love for art and the observation of my surroundings got me into architecture, which i’m currently studying in the master’s programme at lund university, sweden. my passion lies within the transformation of existing building and spaces, appreciating the already existing and heritage buildings. ever since i was a kid i went camping with my parents and got to love the feeling of knowing everything i need can be found in the smallest of spaces, which i also firmly believe is the case in architecture as well. therefore i would call myself an aspiring “small-scale” architect – using spaces efficiently by organizing them perfectly.
